Letter from the President
Complete Tree Care was formed in April 2005 as a sole proprietorship. In the years previous I was in the tree industry as an employee. I found many opportunities on weekends to put my skills to use doing side jobs. I discovered in the process that those jobs would many times produce a higher return than my weekly paycheck. Eventually I decided to turn my skills into a business. Initially I purchased the bare essentials that I would need to begin; climbing equipment, chain saws and a pickup. I put an advertisement in the local shopper, purchased insurance and away I went. My first year exceeded my expectations and I quickly began to enjoy the freedom and challenges of being an entrepreneur.
The second year I decided I would need more equipment to grow and become more profitable. I added a used brush chipper and soon after a used dump truck. This equipment allowed me to nearly double my gross sales from the previous year. Late that summer I was recommended to a gentleman who was retiring and selling his boom truck and business. He offered to sell the truck and his customer base to me for a reasonable price. The fall and winter were good for me and I worked sporadically through the winter, which was a change from the previous year.
When spring rolled around I had found many of the customers from previous years calling me back and was also able to pick up a considerable amount of new business. The equipment that I had acquired allowed the business to function very efficiently. In 2007 I saw my gross sales nearly double again from the previous year.
It has been very exciting to see a business with very humble beginnings grow and even thrive. It has also provided me with the motivation to continue on and find new ways to expand and serve the area in which I live.
